Editra is a promising text editor for programmers that has several interesting features.

The first is the large number of programming languages which Editra supports. In total, there are 60, including Action Script, CSS, Java, PHP, Pascal, Ruby, SQL, and Visual Basic, among others.

Developed with Python and designed to be multiplatform, Editra can group source code into chunks which you can hide to make it easier to understand the document. You can also highlight the syntax of just about any language.

Editra has a tab system to help you stay organized, too, which will help you move between files. You can also bleed the lines and set up comments automatically.
